The European Logistics Association – Europejskie Stowarzyszenie Logistyczne, is a federation of 30 national organisations, covering almost every country in Central and Western Europe.
The aim of ELA is to provide the forum members for communication and promotion of professionals with the supply chain.
- ELA gives the European Award Logistics Excellence every year for the best logistics project of the year,
- invites graduate students from all over Europe to the annual ELA workshop aimed at the analysis of the selected aspects of logistics and supply chain,
- organises the joint events and meetings promoting cooperation with the European Parliament and its Commissions.
The ECBL – The European Board for Certification in Logistics (Europejska Rada ds. Certyfikacji w Logistyce) is directly under the European Logistics Association. ECBL is an independent body consisting of the member states, which voluntarily agree to share the standards of competence in logistics and adhere to common levels of procedures for providing the quality. ECBL is the curator of ELA standards and as such is responsible for the update of the ELA standards whenever necessary.
